Pebble beaches aren’t a rarity in Kent & Sussex but this one is special. It stretches for five miles from here to Hastings and it’s great for fossil hunters. Among the finds have been dinosaur bones and footprints, plus crocodile and turtle bones and freshwater sharks’ teeth. The best place to search is on the exposed foreshore and among the boulders and shingle. We’re sure that Oliver, when older, will venture to the cliffs in search for his own little gem but for now it’s picnics and stone munching!
